First Aid

With effect from 1st October 2009, there have been changes to First Aid training.  

The 'Appointed Person' one day training course has ceased and been re-titled Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW).  The syllabus remains much the same and the qualification lasts for 3 years, however, it is recommended that a half-day refresher is completed annually.  

In addition, this course may only be taught by HSE approved training organisations.  You can view a list of approved training organisations by going to the HSE web-site

All SPS one day First Aid courses reflect this change. You can book your place on an EFAW course by clicking on courses and choosing the date that is most convenient for you. The course runs a number of times a year at different venues around the country, so book now to update your qualification!
