New Courses from SPS

12th February 2010

Following the collation of the questionnaire results that we sent out before Christmas, we have been working hard to meet your training requirements for the year ahead!  We are delighted to be able to inform you that we are now offering a much wider range of courses based on your feedback and in locations that are more convenient for you to get to. We are sure that you will find a short / CPD course you want to study in 2010/2011.

We start by offering the Strapping & Taping and Get on the Ball courses in Nottingham, as well as Cardiff. Places are limited, so if you want to be included, visit www.spslearn.co.uk ‘courses' section and apply now.

Secondly, with the arrival of the New National Occupational Standards, your CPD should be considered in terms of ‘mapping' to these new standards.  This is especially true of the most utilised soft tissue skills namely Specific Stretch/STR, Myofascial Release & Trigger Point therapies. SPS is very pleased to offer its graduates a number of weekend courses specifically designed to guide practitioners towards utilising these skills for the benefit of all clients. Whether you want to study one area or all three, there are cost effective options available at a variety of locations.

Finally, if you want to:

  • Improve your fundamental sports massage skills;
  • Enhance your knowledge by studying more advanced soft tissue areas;
  • Undertake a course that results in a Higher Education Award;

then, we have the solution for you! We are pleased to be able to offer a new course format for 2010/2011.This new course offers all the fundamental skills previously offered and the additional benefits of continuing to study more advanced soft tissue skills which have been mapped to the New National Occupational Standards (NOS). This course also results in the Higher Education Award - University Certificate of Advanced Professional Development (UCAPD). This is the only stand-alone qualification (awarded 60 credits) in the Framework for Higher Education (FHEQ). The advantage of education awarded in the FHEQ is that it can be used towards foundation degrees and degrees in many areas of healthcare.

For full details on all new courses and dates, visit the Courses section on the SPS website.
